Colleagues from MicroVision, Linkam’s French distributor, are representing us at the 36th ESRF Annual User Meeting which is taking place from 2 - 4 February 2026 on the EPN Campus in Grenoble, France.

This event gathers the international ESRF community, the beamline staff and the ESRF User Organisation for a rich program featuring tutorials, plenary sessions with a round-table discussion, and user-dedicated microsymposia. Click here to find out more about this event.

The 20th SOLEIL Users’ Meeting is taking place today and tomorrow at SOLEIL, France.

It brings together the synchrotron user community to present recent scientific results, discuss developments at the SOLEIL facility, and foster collaboration between users and beamline teams. The programme will include lectures highlighting scientific advances and strategic perspectives, as well as parallel scientific sessions covering a broad range of applications such as biology and health, materials science, soft matter and chemistry, geosciences, environment, and physics.

Gilles from MicroVision, Linkam’s distributor in France, would be pleased to meet you there and discuss how Linkam equipment could help with your research projects. We have a range of models at the show including the BCS, TS1500, HFS350-GI, DSC450, LTS420-P4, CSS450, Peltier stages and WCP.

Linkam Supports Renewed Hope this Festive Season

This festive season Linkam are delighted to support Renewed Hope, a local charity which provides practical help and emotional support to the homeless, vulnerable and isolated of East Surrey. During the winter months, the charity also operates a night shelter in several local churches from December through to early March to give homeless people a hot meal and bed and breakfast each night.

Our team have donated food and toiletries for the shelter, along with new and good quality preloved clothing for use by Renewed Hope’s homeless guests who value items they can layer up to keep warm and dry.

Linkam will be represented by Hin Sci at CryOZ 2025 at the University of Wollongong, Australia 17-21 November

We'll be represented at CryOZ 2025 between 17-21 November at the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, by our Australian distributor Hin Sci. CryOZ is dedicated to cryo-electron microscopy in Australia and brings together researchers, imaging specialists, and industry partners working at the frontiers of structural biology and advanced microscopy.

Following the main conference, a series of hands-on workshops and masterclasses will run from 19–21 November, offering a unique opportunity to learn new techniques, explore emerging technologies, and engage with national and international experts in the field.

Hin Sci would be delighted to discuss how Linkam can enhance your microscopy requirements at the event.

We'll be attending the upcoming meeting of the Cryo-Microscopy Group (CMG) at the University of Nottingham on 12 November.

The event includes a keynote presentation by Professor Roland Fleck from King's College London, and other expert presentations on:

• Advanced Cryo-SEM Techniques for Biofilms
• Secondary Electron Hyperspectral Imaging (SEHI) in Cryo-FIB/SEMs
• In-depth Structural and Functional Analyses of DNA Repair Complexes

Our Senior Research Scientist Dr Michael Schwertner will also be giving a short ‘technobyte’ presentation at 2 pm on ‘Cryo-Tools and Workflows from Linkam to Vitrify and Screen Cryo-Samples for EM and FIB-SEM’

Jax gets on her bike!

Jax Kamp, a member of our R&D Team, and daughter of our founder Arnold, recently completed a charity bike ride from Pisa,(Italy) to Nice, (France), a distance of 600 km, and 9,000 m of climbing over just 4 days! Jax took part to raise funds to increase awareness and research into secondary breast cancer as part of the One More City campaign.

All funds raised from her ride go directly towards funding PhD students to undertake clinical research into secondary breast cancer. Linkam were pleased to match all Jax’s donations to support this important research.

Linkam's Summer Event

Our team took the opportunity to show off their intellectual and sporting prowess at our recent Summer Event. Following the quarterly business update from our MD Ross, we enjoyed a pizza lunch followed by a quiz and outdoor games making the most of the sunny weather.  As always, despite fierce competition, a good time was had by all, and our team demonstrated the adage that it’s the taking part that counts!

Linkam welcome ApexSyn to our UK Headquarters

We were delighted to welcome colleagues and their families from ApexSyn, our distributor in Sweden, to our UK Headquarters in Salfords, Surrey this week. Our Sales and R&D Teams had a productive meeting with them, sharing business and product development updates, and conducting product training. A busy day was ended with a tasty meal of fish and chips in a local pub.

Linkam welcome SpectroLab to our UK headquarters

We were delighted to welcome Piotr and Agnieszka from SpectroLab, our distributor in Poland, to our UK Headquarters in Salfords, Surrey this week. The Sales Team had a productive two-day meeting with them, exchanging new business ideas, formulating marketing strategies and conducting product training. After a couple of busy days, we made time for a few pints at some traditional English pubs in the evenings.
